LPG is an excellent, environmentally friendly fuel with hundreds of millions of satisfied consumers in Pakistan and across all parts of the world. As with all forms of energy, LPG can be hazardous if mishandled or misused. Care in the storage, handling, distribution and use of LPG will mitigate any incidents, accidents and their consequences. Although safety is an important issue, it should also be emphasized that LPG is an excellent, versatile and often preferred fuel for hundreds of applications. It is also recognized as an environmentally friendly fuel with many social and health related benefits.

‘Prevention is better than cure’ and effective safety practices start by getting things right within the company’s working areas, storage plant, operations or transportation system. The importance of having an effective emergency management system in place should something go wrong has been recognized for a long time.

We at our company, always have given priority to following (As per the Regulatory Authority) practices or points in ensuring health and safety awareness:

  • Hazards:
    A description of the potential hazards associated with energy resources or LPG plant, such as fire, explosion, and toxic gas release are well documented and in place at per the recommendations of authorities.
  • Emergency Procedure:
    Emergency procedures are also in place that includes detailed instructions on what to do in case of any emergency, including evacuation procedures, emergency response plans, and contact information for emergency services.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
    Information on the types of PPE required in an LPG Plant are well in place.
  • Safe Work Practices:
    Best practices for safe work practices like proper handling of LPG cylinders and tanks, safe storage and maintenance of equipment are ensured at site.
  • Training and Competency:
    Staff and employees at site or plant are trained and information is provided to employees and contractors to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to work safely in LPG plant.
  • Health and Wellness:
    Information on the health and wellness programs are available to employees, including regular health check-ups, and employee assistance programs.
  • Incident Reporting:
    A description of the procedure for reporting incidents, accidents in the plant, including how to report and who to contact.
  • Regulations and Standards:
    Information on the regulations and standards that apply to the LPG plant are well in placed at site.
